Stop worrying about being self-promotional.
Successful wellness business owners understand and implement marketing on a consistent, daily basis.
When I first started Mello Mae, I didn’t feel fully comfortable with self-promotion, but I quickly learned that the more I did it, and the more I did it well, the more successful I became. I would go to events, pop-up shops, and trade shows all the time. After each conversation I had with potential customers, I was able to tweak my pitch based on what kind of response I got in relation to my product.
I quickly realized that I had to consistently, systemically, and continuously market my product to become successful.
Just because you operate in a conscious, soulful business space, doesn’t mean that you can’t have a ‘marketing mindset.’ In fact, you deserve to benefit from the service you are sharing with the world too.
Here are a few key tips:
1. Be Marketing Focused
Understand that marketing is critical. Be cognizant of great marketing that you see in the products and services that you love.
2. Be Committed
Be committed to consistently investing in your marketing both financially and emotionally.
3. Be Promotional
Understand and believe in the value of your offering. Communicate that value consistently. Do something FOR your customers.
4. Success Requires Failure
Remember, for every ten times you fail at something, you might succeed once. You’re going to have to experiment to find out what does and does not work. Don’t let one failure discourage, keep going until you find the right mix.
5. Be Consistent, Be Persistent
There is no power greater than persistence. Consistency will help you build awareness and trust. If you never give up, you will never fail.
6. Never Stop Learning
Always be on the lookout for online resources that you can consume to help you learn.
